TRAVEL: Knysna, South Africa

With the wedding only two months away I can't help but think of all the good times we have had as a couple so far. For example...the first holiday Mr. F and I went on was to Knysna here in South Africa. It is a great little coastal town along the Garden Route. Set on a lagoon, it is well know for its annual oyster festival. It also has tons of pine plantations. We stayed in a cabin in the woods and did lots of fun activities like visiting the elephant sanctuary.

We were lucky enough to go up close and stroke these magnificent animals.

We also payed a visit to the Birds of Eden bird sanctuary were they take in all kinds of birds, especially parrots that no longer have loving homes. This little guy had a thing for shiny buttons and literally grabbed one off my top.

They also have Loeries there...they are indigenous to Knysna and are very hard to spot in the wild. This little one sat still enough for me to catch a snap.

This was the view from our cabin...beautiful!

We drove up in our Landy. Here is our machine parked on one of the many lagoon piers.

Right at the end of our trip we met up with a friend of ours who just happened to be traveling through. I took a sneaky shot of the two boys on the rocks....

We love Knysna it just has a homeliness about it. When visiting South Africa I say Knysna is a must!
