DIY: Gold Ribbon Wreath

Can you believe it is the 1st of December already?! I wanted to start the Christmas countdown by showing you how to make a really simple ribbon wreath.

Here is what you will need...

- Styrofoam wreath
- gold ribbon
- baubles
- pins
- scissors

Step 1: Start by pinning the end of your ribbon to the back of the ring.

*Tip: Make sure to use two pins so that the ribbon doesn't rotate when you start wrapping.

Step 2: Wrap the ribbon around the ring until you reach the start again. Make sure to keep it as tight as possible and try to make the over lap even.

Step 3: Once you reach the start pin down the loose end at the back of the ring and cut off the excess.

Step 4: With a new length of ribbon loop it around the top of the ring and tie a knot. Tie a second knot further up to hang the wreath from.

Step 5: Cut three lengths of ribbon, one longer than the other two, tie a bauble to the end of each piece of ribbon. Pin the other ends of the ribbon to the back of the ring in a formation like above.

Step 6: Using varying lengths of ribbon make a loop with each length and pin them in a criss cross fashion to form a rosette as above.

And there you have it a glittery gold wreath to proudly hang from your front door to welcome guests. You could also try this DIY with other colours like red, green or even purple.

P.S: You can look forward to a bunch of Christmas related DIY's and recipes here on CW in the countdown to be sure to check back.
