TRAVEL: Italy Part 1: Food Festival

Hello from Italy my lovelies! Did you know that today is World Food Day? In honour of this I wanted to share some of the photos I took at a food festival here a couple of days ago. The festival was held in a town called Longarone in the Province of Belluno. The festival celebrates produce that is made in the traditional way by small and local producers.

There was a beautiful selection of organically grown veggies like these fresh Borlotti...

Bright tomatoes and fennel...

And gorgeous radicchio...

An array of cured meats, salami and even ostrich steaks.

Whole stuffed and roasted pig, sliced onto a panini...

And the selection of cheeses...holy wow!

Pecorino covered in barley...

Goats cheeses from Sardegna...

And the king of Italian cheese in my book, this gorgeous wheel of Parmesan...

Bread loaves the size of a man? Yip that too...

There were also some delicious olives...

Anchovies...

And a variety of bottled yummies...

And to drink...BEER! This stall had a massive variety of flavoured beers, including cherry, apple, elderflower and perfect for halloween...pumpkin.

The sweet stuff included cannoli...

Marzipan fruit...

And well...ice cream of course. With flavours ranging from strawberry, raspberry ripple, salted almond, honey biscuit, proseco, red wine, fig and...PARMESAN!

It was such a great day out! And the food was incredible.

I hope you are all enjoying something tasty to celebrate World Food Day!

Ciao for now...
